Ella Ella IPA - Icarus Brewing
Icarus Brewing celebrates its first canning release with the first IPA it has brewed since opening a little over 6 months ago. This version, a double dry-hopped version, was just unleashed onto New Jersey over this past weekend. Being a fan of what Icarus Brewing has had to offer in the past, this was a no brainer.
The beer pours a yellow-ish to almost amber color. The nose smells of something of tangerine meets melon and is quite enjoyable. The taste is somewhat familiar to the nose, but likening a bit more to that of grapefruit and slightly hoppy bitterness. All in all, this is a very solid beer to have for a very first can release. I'm glad I picked up a 4-pack. For anyone seeking something more akin to a New England IPA, you might have better luck with Yacht Juice at the brewery. But if you like an easy-drinking IPA for a nice summer afternoon, Ella Ella from Icarus will do the trick. Salud!
